Ali Gale - Personal Coach and NLP Practitioner
It is my belief that everyone has the right to be the best that they can be. To shine brightly. For many reasons people are often denied this possibility. Often they don’t even realise what potential they have. It is easy to be held back by lack of confidence or lack of self-belief.
Coaching is something that took me a long time to discover! I am one of a huge number of people who have never really known what they wanted to do with their lives. I have worked in a variety of different areas.
With a background in education, I have worked as a teacher for over 20 years, full-time and on supply, branched out into English as a Foreign Language and English for Speakers of other Languages, lived in France and taught EFL in Brighton and Hove, Croatia and Malaysia. I worked for a local travel company and I was a Community Fundraiser for Cancer Research UK.
As a volunteer I have been involved in a variety of projects including the 'Women in Action project'. This helped women get back into the workplace after having children or after illness or a lack of confidence. I trained as a mentor to work alongside clients on the project providing support as they returned to work. The experiences I had were the beginning of my interest in coaching. It all 'clicked' for me. However it still took me some time to get there! After a career break travelling solo for a year, I trained as a Personal Coach with the Coaching Academy graduating in 2009 with Distinction. In 2011 I qualified as an NLP Practitioner and now use NLP alongside my coaching.
In addition to running my own coaching practice I have worked with the South East England Development Agency (S.E.E.D.A) and Chichester College on a European Social Funded project to coach people to explore the possibility of self-employment.
What coaching means to me
It is the beginning of an exciting journey and a fantastic means of support. Someone is there for you, fighting your corner and caring that your dreams turn into realities. A coach will hold your hand in one of theirs and nudge you gently forward with their other.
To be listened to and heard is so important. Coaching provides a place for all your ideas and plans to be voiced without judgement. You can be assured of a positive response. You will never be ridiculed.
I believe coaching helps people to change and to manage the changes they themselves bring about.
I have seen coaching really turn lives around and send people off in different, more positive, exciting directions. Coaching gives you the opportunity to have your current situation reflected back to you so you can see it for what it really is and see the possibilities that are there for you.
Then when you truly know what you need to do to move you forward, coaching is there to help you
take action and to bring about change!
